The morning rust. Daily you succeed in pulling an outfit together, dropping the kids packed at school and trying to avoid the traffic – Waze isn’t always helping to arrive around a decent hour at work. Your minutes in the bathroom are scarce – or moved to the car (we feel you). Still, for many women, make-up is a way to boost their professionalism, confidence and appearance. Therefore, we collected our 5 best make-up tips that ensure a quick beauty look under 5 minutes.
1/ Use tinted moisturiser
To keep your skin hydrated and give it a healthy glow, use a moisturiser. Since we all want to have smooth skin and cover the little imperfections, you can use a tinted moisturiser.
What is the difference between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation?
Tinted moisturisers are less pigmented but have more moisturising ingredients, making them less likely to clog your pores. Ideal when you don’t want to spend too much time de-puffing at night either.
2/ Groomed eyebrows
Beautifully trimmed eyebrows can do wonders for the face. And yes we too are sometimes shocked when we get a glimpse of ourselves in the back mirror of our car. So we highly recommend getting your eyebrows waxed – and possibly coloured – at a beauty salon once in a while. In the morning, you can then choose to shape them with an eyebrow gel. Just go over them with the brush and you’re ready for the working day!
3/ Use mascara
Eye contact is very important, especially in a professional context. Therefore, in addition to groomed eyebrows, don’t forget your mascara. It creates a beautiful open and awake look. Not only will you experience a boost yourself, but the people you connect with will also be greeted by a fresh appearance.
If you wear glasses, don’t forget to apply a second coat as the frame will gobble up some of the makeup.
Tip: Not everyone is a fan of it, but we can’t live without an eyelash curler anymore. Your lashes are instantly beautifully curled. Apply 1-2 coats and your lashes will look good all day.
Extra tip: Heat your eyelash curler briefly with a hairdryer for an extra curling effect. The heater of your car can also work wonders, but don’t do this while driving!
4/ Use hot blush
A beauty product that we ourselves sometimes dare to forget in the rush, but does so much for your make-up look. Blush helps lift the cheeks and gives a subtle glow to the face. Choose colours that add warmth to your skin tone. Avoid bright pink or red shades during working hours. Use those to transform your make-up look from desk to dinner.
An extra minute? Add a highlighter.
5/ Soft lips
As a finishing touch, apply lipstick. Make sure your lips are always moisturised. Using a soft, lip colour or a transparent gloss can be enough to finish your make-up look. If you want a more powerful look, go for a more striking, deeper colour. You can of course use this one for the desk-to-party transformation.
